Join us for a variety of riding tours where on offer are great roads, great scenery and, we like to think, great company and the chance to prepare for the RoSPA Advanced Riding Test.

We are RoSPA Gold Riders, experienced Tutors and hold the RoSPA National Diploma in Advanced Motorcycle Instruction. (Don’t let that put you off though, we aren’t out to criticise your riding; our rides are for everyone!).

Above all, we love to ride, day in and day out! Anywhere we can!

Note: RoSPA – Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents

Accompany us for a weekend ride to Wales – long days in the saddle filled with characterful roads and beautiful scenery. Staying overnight at a 3* B&B (minimum), we return via a circular route around the north of Snowdon!

For a longer trip, we head across into mainland Europe and take a tour around the north of France into Belgium, followed by a long loop to the coast and back to Calais. Another of our rides pops down to the Millau bridge – this can be done over a long weekend, leave Friday and return Monday.

Our enthusiastic intent is to give a flavour of great touring in small groups.

New to touring, then try a tour with us. We help you gain confidence as we will ride all types of road. Even if not new to touring, take a ride with us. And maybe prepare for taking the Advanced Riding test!

We also offer a Cotswold Explorer tour; spending 5 days based in or near the Cotswolds, an area of outstanding natural beauty, we meander into small and off the beaten track roads in the region visiting many of the famous villages such as Bibury and Burford. On other days we head further afield to the south coast; or pop over to the town of Henley; and even do a run around north Wiltshire seeing the stones of Avebury, going to Castle Combe and Lacock – all feature regularly in Hollywood films!

Another favourite of ours is the South West; starting in Bath, we head down to Lands End. A three day tour with two overnight stops visiting some great coastal scenery en route. We might even try a Cornish pastie or three!

Typical Cornish coastline – Bedruthen steps

On these tours we offer the opportunity to prepare for the RoSPA Advanced Riding test – but only if you want to, training is not compulsory. As RoSPA Gold riders, RoSPA tutors and Diploma Holder in Advanced Motorcycle Instruction, we are in a great position to offer you expert advice. But don’t worry, if you don’t want any advice or tips then we won’t be pushing it!

Included in our costs are hotels and breakfast, full itinerary, guides and coaching; if crossing into Europe then either the Tunnel or Ferry. What’s not included are insurances, daily sustenance other than what is noted, entrances to any attractions, fuel, road tolls, RoSPA test fee, parking or any fines that may be picked up – ahem!

Included too is fun – this is compulsory!

Bike & gear – being an advanced riding course, participants are expected to have their own insured, taxed and MoT’d bike, as well as protective riding gear. None of this is supplied.

Discrimination – we accept and welcome all forms and makes of motorcycle as long as they are insured, taxed and MOT’d (if needed) and the rider has a full riding licence appropriate for the size of motorcycle.

Bike size does matter, unfortunately. Unless you are booking with a group of friends of similar size bikes, then the smallest we can accept on a general tour will be 500CC. If you have a machine below 500CC, drop us a line and we’ll discuss arranging a trip with you, for you. We do understand not everyone wants a big bike, but we want to encourage everyone to have fun, tour and learn new skills too.

All touring and training is meant to be taken seriously, but we do intend to make it fun as well. If we don’t hear laughing, then we need to know why!

Don’t forget, this is Advanced Riding. Not CBT/DAS – you ride your own bike and wear your own riding gear.

Keep up with your mates” – why? Ask yourself why you need to? What sort of bike do they have compared to yours? We ride at a pace that suits the group.

And, if it rains, we get wet!

Important note: Any techniques described during training are for guidance only, and riders must be confident in their ability to perform them. No responsibility is accepted for any actions taken by riders, as they alone are deemed in control of their machines at all times.

New Horizons Motorbike Training and Tours accepts payment either by bank transfer, or via PayPal invoicing.

We are pleased to be doing this in association with Abbey Rider Training of Swindon.
